The British Army's special forces unit, which even America's Delta Force and Navi Seal, the 'original' of modern special forces, respect first of all, is the Airborne Special Forces (SAS).
The SAS gained a worldwide reputation as the best anti-terrorist commando by successfully suppressing the hostage detention incident at the Iranian embassy in London in 1980, as well as the German GSG-9's hijacking and rescue operation of an airplane in Mogadishu, the Assen train hijacking and rescue operation, and Aldo, who served as Prime Minister of Italy. SAS agents were dispatched to the Moro kidnapping incident and played a key role in the successful rescue operation using tactical guidance and state-of-the-art equipment such as nerve incapacitating bombs.
Due to their performance and reputation, they became a model for the creation of anti-terrorist commandos in countries around the world, and America's Delta Force was also created with the help of SAS.
Currently, SAS fights counter-terrorism through close cooperation with Western countries' anti-terrorist commandos, such as America's Delta Force and Germany's GSG-9. We are conducting tactical development and training, and are contributing greatly to the eradication of terrorism by providing special equipment and dispatching members to act as advisors when these special forces are deployed in actual operations.
